Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust:

The ECT Rescue Helicopter currently flies about 145 missions a year and covers the area between Mahia and Waikaremoana in the South to the East Cape and around to Te Kaha.

The range of services provided includes primary response for accidents and critically ill patients, search and rescue (including off-shore missions), and inter-hospital transfer throughout New Zealand. The ECT Rescue Helicopter also supports police operations, the fire service and civil defence.

We are incredibly proud sponsors, they do amazing work.

Hospice

Hospice Tairawhiti provides community-based hospice care for the people of Tairawhiti, from Morere to Potaka.

Hospice or palliative care is specialised care for people with life limiting illnesses. As with all hospice palliative care services throughout New Zealand, much of the funding comes from grants and donations.  Hospice care is provided free of charge for all people in need, regardless of religion, race, gender or age.

These guys do such amazing work, and we are honoured to be able to support them.

Surf Lifesaving Search and Rescue Squad Eastern Region

Surf Life Saving is one of the best imports we've ever had from Australia in the early 1900’s. New Zealand lifeguard wore the same style of costumes and caps as their Australian counterparts. The story of Surf Life Saving New Zealand is one of extraordinary efforts to save people from the unpredictable seas.

Clubs broke down social barriers and established a comradeship between strangers. Selection from lifesaving tended to break down prejudices. All clubbies were treated equally - lawyers, plumbers and farm hands worked together to save lives. Their only qualification was an ability to move through the surf.

Surf Life Saving in New Zealand these days is now stronger than ever. Every year, hundreds of people are making the same decision as those clubbies back in the 1910. They are joining an organisation and family that has seen enormous change in it's over 100-year history.

Through the long summer months, the guardians of the beach are ever on the lookout for an upraised hand, ears pricked for a cry for help. The red and yellow flag has remained a symbol of safety in the surf. Though traditions, equipment and practices have changed, one fact has endured: lifeguards are In it for Life.

Lifeguards are so very important, they are the beacons of safety when out swimming and they are the reason theres so many people saved each year from our beaches. We couldn’t be more proud to support such a fantastic cause.
